Ylang Cardi is knitted with two strands held together throughout. It is worked from the top down in stockinette stitch.
First, the work begins with the yoke, then with raglan increases to shape the shoulders and the sleeves. Sleeves stitches are then put on hold, then we work the body back and forth. Then we bind off the stitches. The resting sleeves stitches are then placed onto a circular needle (or double-pointed needles) and worked in the round. Then we bind off the stitches. All stitches are purposely bind off to give to the I-cord edging a more defined look.
Lastly, the stitches are picked up in this precise order : around the neckline, then around the bottomline, then along the sidelines for an I-cord bind off edge.
The Ylang Cardi is designed to have approx. 12-15 cm [4.75-6 inches] of positive ease. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 71-76 (81-86) 91-96 (101-106) 111-117 cm [28-30 (32-34) 36-38 (39.75-41.75) 43.75-46 inches]. Measure yourself before starting the work, to determine which size will fit you the best. For instance, if your bust measures 89 cm [35 inches], you should knit a size S. A size S corresponds to a cardigan bust circumference of 101 cm [39.75 inches], which in this given exemple would give 12 cm [4.75 inches] of positive ease.
